If you don’t know how to work it, you might end up scratching your skin and hurting yourself.
Luckily, there’s a few simple things you can do to keep it in tip-top shape.

Make sure your copper is well insulated.
Copper has a high thermal conductivity, which means it has a lower melting point than copper wire, making it more flexible and less prone to cracking.
If your copper sheet is being used as insulation, make sure the insulation isn’t too porous.

Use a thermal compound.
When copper is heated up in a furnace, the molten metal acts as a thermal conductor, which acts like a conductor between the copper and the surrounding air.
Heat from the furnace creates a positive charge that heats up the copper.
As the charge increases, it attracts the copper’s electrons, which is why it’s called a thermal conductive material.

Use foil or other heat transfer materials.
The copper foil is a very good conductor of heat, and there are several ways to heat it up.
One method is to use a microwave oven to heat up a copper sheet in a microwave-safe container.
Microwaves work by converting the energy of the electricity generated by a small, single-walled dish into a higher energy, higher frequency sound.
This energy can then be transmitted to a nearby appliance to heat the copper up.
Another method is using a thermal blanket or insulation to heat a copper wire directly from the coil.
Micrometre-width foil is the best choice, since it has high thermal resistance and high thermal efficiency, so it works well for copper sheet insulation.
Micronewave insulation is a more efficient, cheaper, and lighter option, but it doesn’t have the high thermal energy of copper.

Use high-temperature conductive plastics.
Conductive plastics are a relatively new material that offers good thermal conductivities, but they’re also expensive and require special coatings to be effective.
If copper sheet materials are used as an insulation, use a conductive plastic for the insulation to reduce the amount of heat transferred.
Conductivity-plastic insulators work best for insulation of thin copper wire.
This type of insulation is often called heat-resistance insulation.

Use polyester or other insulation.
Polyester is the most common type of conductive insulation, but other types are also good choices.
Polyesters have a high electrical conductivity and low thermal conductance.
