5,521 players have been awarded medals in the 2014/15 Euro Championships, according to a tally by Football Italian.
The total tally, as of the start of the tournament, was 5,636, including players who won the World Cup in Brazil.
The most recent edition of the finals was held in February, but this year’s games were not held in time for the tournament to be staged.
Among the medal winners was the former Italian captain, Alessandro Nesta, who won gold in his third final at the age of 24.
The tournament is traditionally the tournament of the greats, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all being among the best in Europe.
The latest edition was held on the final day of the previous season.
